Institutional Roots
-
The Environmental Engineering program at ITB traces its origins to Technische Hoogeschool te Bandoeng (THB), founded on July 3, 1920. By March 19, 1935, a specialized hygienicâengineering laboratory, Laboratorium voor Technische Hygiene en Assaineering, was established under Dutch colonial administration. That laboratory became ITBâs Environmental Engineering Lab on January 17, 1966.

The formal Division of Sanitary Engineering was initiated on October 10, 1962 within the Faculty of Civil Engineering. As the field broadened in scope, this division was renamed Environmental Engineering on January 5, 1984

Journal Turnaround: 2006â2007

In August 2006, ITB produced a special issue through collaboration with IATPI under the title Jurnal Teknik Lingkungan Edisi Khusus.

Regular publications restarted in 2007:

Volume 12, No. 2 appeared in October 2006

Volume 13, No. 1 (April 2007) and No. 2 (October 2007) were released under ISSN 0854â1957.

These issues were collaboratively published by the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering ITB and the Indonesian Association of Environmental and Sanitary Engineering (IATPI).
